Hi guys, I'm quite new to magic. I was wondering how long your average best of three match takes in a tournament.  I was just researching renting a space for a small monthly tournament that sells space by the hour and was wondering how many hours I'd need. Thanks

Each match is given 45 minutes. Generally, 37 minutes is enough. 45 is required in case of control decks.

I have game 1 go for 40 minutes

Don't put yourself at an hourly rate for rent
Find a flat daily rate. Magic tournaments can go much longer than girlfriends expect

Besides that it's also nice to be able to have an aftergame at the location.

Lmao so true.

Wife: it's 2am and you are just getting home!
Me: the owner brought out the cube after the draft
Wife: what the hell is a cube and a draft? You know what! You are an .rearexit. and you would be pissed if I stayed out that late.  I'm going back to sleep and you better not plan on sleeping in tomorrow
Me: good night honey .... or should I say good morning ☺️

I had that too on M15 prerelease. We decided to have a second round with like 6 ppl. Store owner very pleased ofc. Wife was less amused, though she was kinda happy with my spoils: landed a B/G with 2 (!) apex Predators and a foil Soul of Zendikar.

Any chance you could spare one of dos Apex-i?

I like the odds of drawing one with two in my deck, sorry.
