Community Commander Deck: Grenzo, Dungeon Warden Reanimator (Round 3)

 {Flayer of the Hatebound} - insane card for red reanimator decks, fits theme very well.

{Phyrexian Altar} - in my experience in EDH, I firmly believe that every deck needs some good sac outlets, this is one of my favorites ( others include  {Altar of Dementia},  {Goblin Bombardment}, and  {Ashnod's Altar} )

{Necromancer's Stockpile} - a VERY underrated card imo, gets cards into your graveyard while giving you additional value. (Also, if you pitch  {Gravecrawler} And have the two cards mentioned above in play , you have yourself a C-C-C-COMBO BREAKERRR!)

I'm suggesting {Hamletback Goliath} for the great boost in +1/+1 counters it gives Grenzo and any other creature because big creatures are fun.
{Grave Titan} because he is awesome, and... Well awesome.
Lastly {Sheoldred, the Whispering One}, because it's a nice steady reanimator and adds some removal to the mix.

Oh...{Morgue Burst}, not the best, but it is flavorful, removal and reanimation.

{teferis puzzle box} because you can put the cards from your hand in any order on the bottom and draw that many more.....once you have this in play it should be pretty easy to set up a couple awesome creatures to cheat it play with Grenzo

{ogre battledriver} so your new guys get haste and +2/0.  I see this deck as wanting to swing a lot since you can potentially cheat in a lot of guys a turn and this haste with bonus could close games that much quicker.

{lim dul the necromancer} because their creatures can so easily become yours when they die......and again it's low power is easy to cheat into play with Grenzo ...... then you get sheoldred out too and that's just mean or you could use {it that betrays} over lim but I like how easy it is to cheat lim into play

{bringer of the black dawn} because it's 5 power is easy to cheat into play with Grenzo and he gives you a free {demonic tutor} each turn he is in play

 {It That Betrays}+ one of the many {grave pact} cards with  {Mikaeus, the Unhallowed} because the three go infinite with a sac outlet and it works with putting cards on the battlefield because you can get a good creature to sac from  {Grenzo, Dungeon Warden}s ability

It's looking that way. We've plateaued as far as participation is concerned.

I had a much better prize, but I was going to save it for a future contest. This is usually always the part where the community commander decklist falls apart, and I thought for sure prizes would incentivize us over the top.

30+ voted last round, 3 contributions a piece. I think we have to up the contribution rate.

{Goblin Machinist}, {Kaboom!}, and {Mindmoil} all to get good stuff to the bottom of the library after putting it to good use.

1st: {Champion of Stray Souls}: I'm a pretty big fan of this card. Five mana, turn X crappy creatures into whatever's good in your graveyard. Plus it's instant speed so you can do it in response to spot removal. Did I mention that if he hits your graveyard and you can't reanimate him he'll kindly jump on top of your library? Plus it's a sac outlet and infinite combo (though slow and stoppable) with enters the battlefield creatures/effects.

2nd: {Mortal Combat}: Read it. Flavor, alt win condition that should be possible...I did debate not putting it in but it's just too good to not put it in my top three. It doesn't exactly synergy with reanimator technically, but we should have quite a few things in the graveyard and if we have sac outlets (see 8th) then we can always sac out stuff to hit twenty.

3rd: {Junktroller}: Yes, there are better options. But there aren't many so let's rock what we've got! Also, it doesn't cost any mana to activate and gives you a semi sturdy blocker. Plus his power is zero so Grenzo can always grab him!


Honorable Mentions: (unless of course they're better  than my picks in which case adjust accordingly)

4th: {Fated Return}: Yes that's alot of mana. It's also quite valuable. There are multiple creatures floating around that would be sick with indestructible.

5th: {Nighthowler}: Being as we're running reanimator I wasn't sure if this would we a solid pick as we're kinda trying to get creatures /out/ of our graveyard. At the same time it's a four of in Sidisi reanimator and kicks serious butt. It's also bestowable so you can buff Grenzo to pull creatures out.

6th: {Vessel of Endless Rest}: Mana rock, tucks something for Grenzo to grab out. Win win.


7th: {Soldevi Digger}: Again, there are better options. In fact this card isn't too great. But there aren't many options so let's rock what we've got!


8th: {Bloodflow Connoisseur}: Others were mentioning sac outlets. This is one of my favs as it's free.
