Hey guys. Kaalia was my first edh deck a loooong time ago. I never really played her because my play groups edh decks were under powered and it would blow them out of the water. If course now that we've added players to the group and everyone's skill level went up I dusted off the old deck and found it to be very lacking lol just a bunch of demons angels and dragons shoved in sleeves. I've decided to build the deck into a much more competitive version to match the power of my friend's 1v1 decks. Money isn't really an issue because I already have 90% of these cards. Feed back welcome if I forgot something. I don't make competitive edh decks so these are new waters I tread into

you should have a few more basics to deal with  {Blood Moon} just a thought other than that it looks good

{basandra} seems meh, unless you're making a certain meta call. Also {Tariel} isn't very good, maybe it's just me, but I hate doing things at random. Also {indulgent tormentor} isn't great in EDH, it just makes target opponent lose 3 life on your upkeep. One last thing: I'd make {malfegor} {dragon Mage} because it just lets you refuel your hand, and in a similar vein, {necropotence}

I'm liking dragon Mage and necro. Basandra is just because a lot of my friends do combat tricks. Tal is in because I have a love affair with him lol.

Griz is banned in my play group so I don't use him to keep it social (says the kaalia player)

Blood moon is scary but I really do have a spot to put more basics because of my need for colors. Maybe the pain lands for 3 more basics

Honestly you should run blood moon yourself? You have quite a few mana rocks, and going t2-3 Kaalia into blood moon and just start dropping demons and angels and dragons sounds pretty good to me.

I agree I have a lot of rocks but that maybe the last thing I want to do. Blood moon hurts me a lot more then opponents. If you blow up two of my mana rocks and all of a sudden I have only mountains. On top of that I would have to drop something and so far it's hard to find a spot for  {Dragon Mage}

Yea French has it legal. He's played as a control general sometimes.

God yes control loves him. Refill my hand with more gas in trade for something I have abundance of. When I built my first kaalia deck he was a top pick in my head with everything positive but that deck was already not fun to play against so I toned it down a notch.
