Say one is thinking about making a five color sliver deck... How much mana of each color would one aim to have in said sliver deck?

It depends on how much you want to spend, and which slivers you are playing. In a perfect world you would probably want 4x {Cavern of Souls}, 4x {Sliver Hive}, fetchlands, and ABUR duals, but if you post a list and budget, I'm sure there is a more budget friendly way to do it with basics and Khans Refuges.

I have 1 sliver hive already and the other three I could easily obtain.  Never heard of cavern of souls tho, that seems like a pretty legit card.  I have a couple high mana cards-high being 5+- like {groundshaker sliver} and {sliver hivelord}, so how much lands should I have total? Should I keep the basic 24 lands? More? Less?

So a total of like, 30ish lands?  4 {cavern of souls} 4 {sliver hives} a couple {ancient ziggurats} and like 4 of each basic land (too poor for fetches )

30 lands is definitely not needed in a creature heavy deck.

If you are playing {Syphon Sliver}, you could play {City of Brass} and/or {Mana Confluence}.

All slivers deck must have:
{Crystalline Sliver} and {Harmonic Sliver}

Between {manaweft sliver} and {gemhide sliver} you shouldn't have a lot of problems. You can run 4 {ancient ziggurats} (they're cheap) 4 {sliver hive} and the rest just basics. If you can afford {cavern of souls} that's pretty wicked too. 4 of definately ideal
