I don't know how many of you have heard but there was a terrorist attack on Parliament Hill. I've been watching the news and apparently there's an ISIS following in Canada.

I'm freaking out. This is scary end times stuff. I think I'm going to push my mom towards getting my gun license and maybe go for my restricted.

The us armed Isis hoping they'd help against Assad, and look what happened. Now we have an up an coming terror group that's been reported to have cells in every major nation in the world. We done f'd up.

Gorzo

That sucks. Just stay safe.

Remember that the whole point of a TERRORist is to induce TERROR on a population. It's important to remember that these are isolated, extreme incidents. If you live in fear of them, you'll be giving the terrorists the exact one thing that they want. Don't give them the pleasure, understand that these extremist scum aren't worth changing your life over.

That being said, safety is still important. So if you do decide to look into purchasing a weapon for personal safety, make sure it's because it's what you want, not because you feel like you have to because the bad men are coming to get you. I'd recommend a psychiatrist over a gun for that :P And, of course, go though the proper channels, make sure you get proper training on handling/safety, yadda yadda, all that common sense stuff that sadly isn't as common as you'd hope it would be.

As usual Gorzo, it's too bad it's limited to one +1/person/day... Completely agree with everything that you said.

Do you have proof of this? Is that why Obama kept dismissing them as non-threatening? (Along with Hamas)

I live close to a couple of major cities so I do have some reason to be cautious. It's not like I'm gonna become a recluse and horde guns, though.

I've been wanting to get my gun license for a while now. I'm not (seriously, I have an I over active imagination) concerned about them coming to where I live. But if stuff goes sideways I'd like to be prepared. I fully intend to obey the law as I go about all of this, of course.

I can find links but its easier just to google us finding of Isis. It's known info we gave them training and weapons, same as Hamas as you said. Just like we did with the contras, we keep doing this hoping for a different outcome. Definition of insanity.

It wasn't exactly a terrorist attack. A Canadian/Algerian citizen with drug charges and no connection to ISIS shot a soldier at the war memorial then charged into parliament, and was shot dead there. The guy probably had a long lasting hatred against the Canadian government and troops.

Nevertheless these events triggered the nationwide indefinite suspension of the cadet program

I was also locked down all day long. Spent the entire day in a basement looking at the archives of imtg
