As always I shall roll a D6 1-5 the khans 6 is damn I guess I'm not playing!! :P

I'm doing a 2HG sealed event with my friend and we chose temur and abzan. I wanted to pick mardu, but I feel as though the raid mechanic will be a bit worse in a 2hg setting, where you'll have to attack into two players worth of creatures. I already had a pretty good feeling about outlast, and much unlike raid I feel like it shines a bit more in a 2hg setting, where you can afford to tap down some creatures knowing you have a partner with blockers available.

Then I just love Temur and it seems decently strong for limited so that was an easy choice for me :p

Oh, and correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the pre-release foils that are included the 5 mana wedge rares, like {ivorytusk tower}, {ankle shanker} and {avalanche tusker}?

With ktk the promo foils will be one of 8 different random options for each clan. 40 in total. So far possible promos have been confirmed to be the khans, the ascendencies, and probably the intro pack rares

Ah I see. I'm not sure how I feel about that, because although it makes for a more varied and interesting environment it also makes for less balance.

I feel like the guaranteed promo cards in the past have (mostly) kept things somewhat level. Now we're at a place where someone could have the worst of the 8, and someone else could have the best of the 8.

But hey we'll see, I'm excited to see how it goes.

I'm thinking the promo, because who knows what you'll hit, I'm definitely going with ankle shanker

But you might not even get ankle shanker..?

After doing a massive amount of simulated sealed, I've found that Abzan, Mardu and Temur work out the best for me. Jeskai is good, but not quite there, and Sultai is just.... Eh...

I don't know how random it is, but it seems pretty effective. Courtesy of Argus of course ;)

Sweet! I'm gonna waste so much time on this...

I'm so excited for this!!! I have to agree with this article on the ranking of clans.

http://www.channelfireball.com/articles/pvs-playhouse-khans-of-tarkir-prerelease-primer/

That is:

1. Abzan
2. Temur
3. Mardu
4. Jeskai
5. Sultai

Abzan is the clear winner, as it is consistent, and it has the best overall rare pool. Temur and Mardu are both really good options as well. Jeskai is okay, but most of the best cards in jeskai can be played in other clans. Also prowess encourages you to play noncreature spells, as well as creatures with prowess, and that's just awkward. Sultai is not good. As he states in this article, delve cards are better when played in other clans, because you never want more then a couple. The mechanic conflicts with itself. Also, the sultai rares aren't great.

The only thing I don't like is retribution of the ancients as an Abzan promo. Otherwise it would be 100% perfect
