Possibly the worst thing ever

So I'm just about to sit down and relax, and I catch a glimpse of a huge-ass centipede scurrying its way under my couch. Now I can't relax, and I can't stop looking for it to reappear, and checking the walls for it, because I freaking hate the speedy little bastards.

Evening ruined.

I wouldn't care if it were a spider, why do these things heeby-jeeby me so much?

I feel you. The other day, I found a silverfish under my pillow. I picked it up with a tissue, killed it and then sprayed Raid everywhere.

Earwigs are what get me. .loving. everywhere where I live.

Earwigs are pretty nasty. I get them sometimes, too, but they don't bother me half as much as centipedes. I really don't know why these things bother me, other insects don't get a reaction out of me. Stupid illogical fears. No matter how much I understand that it's harmless, I can't stop the reaction.

Never did find him. He's still around, stalking me... Actually he's probably just eating a hidden spider or something, then he'll starve or die from the home being too dry for it (I use a dehumidifier). Which is sad. And how stupid is it that I feel bad for it lol.

The advantage of living north... No weird bugs here... :)

How big is that?
An inch to a half-inch.

@Whitedrake how far North do you live? I live in Western New York, but we get all sorts of weird bugs brought in because its a huge wine and juice area. We've had Brown recluses and Black widows in our town before.

ibtrickey

I am more scarred of small spiders... I got bitten by a brown reclose or however you spell it.. I am fine with tarantulas but small spiders bug me.

Wow, you're so far north you have to fear polar bears more than these bugs :P

Spiders are fine. As long as they are outside and not on me. Centipedes don't scare me but if they're in my house they must die. Mosquitos, the one insect everybody should be afraid of but isn't, those are kill on sight. Ants, I hate ants. They somehow found a way to get into the house, and seem to prefer my room. Thankfully ant poison has kept them at bay.

But the worst insect of all time is the wasp. (What you and I call a wasp is generally a hornet. I hate them both). I had a short period of time were I'd wake up every morning to a loud buzz, and promptly book it out of my room. This carried on for a while. Then got worse. I was laying in my room, reading, when I rolled over. I felt a buzzing on my back and immediately got up. I still got stung. I preceded to murder the offending scumbag with my garbage can. This escalated till I went in my room to find it covered in wasps. There were twenty on my window if there was one in the whole room. I ended up sleeping on the couch upstairs (when my insomnia was more severe, getting about three hours of sleep a day). We sprayed the hive inside the front wall of our house three times to no avail. They took over the basement. The only thing that stopped them was winter. Thank God. That was one of the worst periods of my life. Ever. The florencent light downstairs is still home to over twenty carcasses. (We taped it off).

Apathy Reactor

Wasp killers = way scarier than wasps.
Example? Even wasps fear it...

One month later... Tonight, I finally found the bastard again.

This time I won at hide&seek. Finally I can stop checking the corners of walls/ceiling every day in irrational paranoia.

I think knowing how irrational my fear reaction is bothers me more than fear itself. Stupid brain.
