If i have "Kiln Fiend" in play, and play a spell like "Ground Rift" will each successive copy count up on "Kiln Fiend"s ability?

Maximo

Yes. Each copy of the spell is being "cast".

Jekawo

Awesome. Thanks a lot. How about if i play a spell like gigadrowse and replicate it, would that count too?

Maximo

Derp it's late I'm sorry, replicate totally works. Also, use curly brackets to link stuff. {{}}

Also also, {Kiln Fiend}, {Ground Rift}, {Gigadrowse}

Jekawo

Ok awesome. But say i play a {Gut Shot} {Stromkirk Noble} and then 2 {Ground Rift} how many times would the last {Ground Rift} actually get played?

Maximo

The first rift gets played 3 times, and the second rift gets played 6 times. Man screw the rift, use {Grapeshot}!

Jekawo

Nah, it's still {Kiln Fiend} that is the main card.

Maximo

Right right, the fiend. Nasty.

Jekawo

Yeah, and then an {Assault Strobe} for good measure, and we're golden.

Maximo

Man, that's.. A 30 damage combo possible on turn 5, faster if you have things like {Seething Song}..

Jekawo

You only need 3 mana a {Lava Dart} a {kiln fiend} and 2 {assault strobe}s. Then its a turn 3.

BadLuckIrish

wait wait....i dont think the copies made by storm affect storm because your not casting they are copied while on stack...i could be wrong though...

Maximo

The spells are still cast, since each of the copies needs to resolve on its own and each one can be countered and stuff.

.. I think.

JaCe BeLeReN

{Fling} the {Kiln Fiend} for the win.

scarsabrex

resolving a spell does not mean it was cast. casting is the movement of a spell(card?) to the stack from another zone. copies aren't explicitly cast unless said so e.g. {isochron scepter}

why does this specificly matter? all the storm copies have storm so going by your logic this woulg cause them to trigger into infinity. and if they didn't a later storm spell would count the copies as resolving changing the scaling of storm spells from linear to exponential making even non infinite storm comboes overpowered.
