I agree about the number of waste nots. I put this together for game day with what I had to see what I thought and figure out how to tweak it. I only had the two waste nots and people are not trading around here. I am going to buy them online.

I would have 4 mutavaults and dump the blood crypts and dread bore and add 2 more wastenot to be honest. Pithing needle in sideboard would be good.

It had trouble dealing with planes walkers once they got out. I am leery of adding more Mutavaults because I want this for post rotation. So I guess I need to find something to replace the dread bores.

Sign in blood is good. I did change it and ran the one that scryes as well (the name is escaping me).

I went back and forth on black cat. I wasn't sure what to take out. He would be good early game, but loses effectiveness later. I went with Deathrite Shaman instead.

I too also play a waste not deck and play black cats over brain maggot to get the discard and with altar price you can sack the black cat because no one really wants to block it to lose a card at random. So sacrifice and then draw two cards and get them to discard a card at random that benefits you for waste not for another potential turn

I'm shocked to see no {Liliana Vess} in this deck. I'd be running four {Waste Not} if possible.

In the final build that I played I had 4 Liliana.  She was great with -2 and draw abilities.  I could tutor up whatever card I needed.

I had {Waste Not} in play with 4 open lands.  I mind rotted my opponent with three lands, and he discarded two lands.  Tapping my last land gave me what I needed to cast my Liliana.
