I'm trying to decide what I want to play for a super iq coming up.

Ideas:

Boros burn: after the deck partly let me down in SCG dallas I'm not completely sure I want to play it.
Creatures (8)

4 Chandra's Phoenix
4 Young Pyromancer

8 Mountain
4 Battlefield Forge
1 Temple of silence
1 gruul scry land forgot the name
4 Sacred Foundry
4 Temple of Triumph

4 Boros Charm
4 Lightning Strike
4 Magma Jet
3 Searing Blood
3 Shock
4 Skullcrack
3 Chained to the rocks
4 Warleader's Helix
1 Stoke the Flames

Rdw:

Creatures (32)

4 Ash Zealot
4 Burning-Tree Emissary
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Firefist Striker
4 Foundry Street Denizen
4 Legion Loyalist
4 Rakdos Cackler
4 Rubblebelt Maaka

19 Mountain

2 Searing Blood
3 Shock
4 Titan's Strength

I know how to play this type of rdw or a boss very very well but I'm not sure if the deck is strong enough.

Esper control:

2 {jace archect of thought}
1 {Elsbeth suns champion}

1 {aetherling}

4 {thought seize}
4 {dissolve}
4 {detention sphere}
2 {syncopate}
4 {supreme verdict}
2 {azourius charm}
3 {sphinxes revelation}
1 {ultimate price}
1 {doom blade}
2 {divination}
2 {quicken}
1 {devour flesh}

Sb:
Because this deck is weak vs FAST aggro and we need help for the control mirror here we go:
2 {drown in sorrow}
2 {nyx-fleece ram}
3 {sin collector}
4 {duress}
1  {negate}
1 {syncopate}
2 {rest in peace} for pesky uw control

I used to play espercontrol during Theros/born of the gods standard but have not played It for a while.

So I would like to play a mono red deck, but don't know if its strong enough.

Id say Esper control.
I would play this Esper list, but I think its pretty weak in the mirror, but it looks good in the mono blue/mono black. I think a red based aggro deck would be strong, but they are weak vs mono blue, and there was a lot of mono blue in SCG open dallas and this super iq is in dallas and should have about 120-150 people so idk what to do. But, there could be a lot of red decks considering rabble red was popular in the pro tour. I like my boros burn match ups for everything besides monoblue and some other 50/50 match ups and green based devotion decks which are weak to Esper. I would like toplay Esper if there is a lot of monoblue, black, green  devotion, but not if there is a lot of red/fast aggro burny and other control: (uw with elixer), so if I play Esper with a strong uw/aggro sb I should be good but idk. I'll happily play burnif there is not much mono blue or greenX devotion with life gain stuff

I play esper control but mine is way different then this one. If your interested in seeing it I'll gladly post it. It does very well, if you can contain the fast aggro.
Mind if I have a look?

I always run 62 cards. This deck has been very successful for me so far. My son runs junk and places top 4 every fnm and 5th in one open if you would like to see it.
This deck looks good, but very weak to aggro game 1 with only 3 supremes which is a must draw against them. I'm not sure why there is a duress of thought seize, I try to go with the motto: more answers less problems, meaning less walkers more "answers" a perfect example of this is the uw list that won pro tour m15. And for the junk list, it would be weak pretty weak for the meta;)

Duress and thoughtseize takes their heavy duty cards out of play. 3 verdicts with all the other removal works fine. Sphere takes out all those little 1 or 2 drop with same name. It is slow but if I'm not dead after turn 4 I'll catch you. Just thought I would try to help out. Plus ashiok steals creatures from them on turn 4.
Typo: if you look at my list it has 4 thought seize. I was asking why you have 3 and 1 considering duress is much weaker vs a lot of matchups, considering not that you blank, but you cant always take the best card.

Play Boss Sligh. It owns the other RDW (In my personal experience, so correct me if I'm wrong).

If you read my conversation you might understand, in SCG dallas there was a lot ofmono blue and 4-5 mono blues made top 16 and 3 top 8. Boss sligh has a terrible mono blue matchup. Boros burns matchup for blue is still bad but not as bad as boss slighs. Boss sligh is also weak against monogreen. Pretty much what it comes done too is that boros burn has better matchups in general unless there is a lot of Jund/control
