Ulcerate v. Dismember

{ulcerate} or {dismember}


I think {ulcerate} is better early game but after T3 {dismember} is much better.  The only real advantage to ulcerate is 1 less life if you actually use both phyrexian mana on dismember.  But obviously dismember is better late game because no life loss if you have the open mana and it kills bigger bodies.

{Dismember} can be played in any deck and actually sees a lot of use in lists that run no black whatsoever.

Dismember by a mile like tbh no comparison -5/-5 compared to -3/-3 is huge and all for just 1 more life (if needed)

But it's not always a 1 life difference. I find the more options a card has the better.

Dismember gets around chalice on 1, can be played off of any mana source, and kills just about everything.
