So.  Nephilims. Five giant, eldritch monstrosities that were ravaging Ravnica the first time around.  Five story-centric creatures, each costing exactly four different colors of mana and each having unique, new abilities.  Sounds like they'd be legendary, right?  Well, for some reason, WotC didn't make them so.

So what do we do?  We build them anyways.

Over the past few weeks, I've been thinking about these guys more and more and I've started brewing some of them.  Two of them, in fact, while I think about the other three.

{Glint-Eye Nephillim} - Non-White
Glint-Eye was built off of random crap I had sitting around in boxes and binders, built as a Voltron-DrawCards-KillYou sort of deck.  I played Ramp, pants for evasion and ways to abuse having a ton of cards in hand, as well as Flashback and Madness to have synergy with Glinty's second ability.  The deck ran really well for the week I had it put together, including being able to just Blitz players out of the game with cards like {Empyrial Plate} and the awesomely effective {Civic Saber}.  As a way to abuse the Mass card draw, I added in the powerful {Cadaverous Bloom}, letting me use the cards as ramp in to huge {Fireball} effects to end games.

{Yore-Tiller Nephilim} - Non-Green
Yore-Tiller cropped up as next on my list, and holy Arceus, is it powerful.  Easiest comparison I can come up with is Kaalia on crack.  An effect Kaalia's is strong, on it's own, but when you get to play out of your graveyard, too, stupid things can happen.  With Yore-Tiller, a sac outlet and {Medomai, the Ageless}, we get to bring back Medomai tapped and attacking on each of our extra turns, circumventing his drawback.  We get to recur {Corpse Connoisseur} to entomb more targets.  We get to look off of {Breath of Fury} for infinite recursion and combat steps! which is made even easier with the new Boonweaver Giant.  This guy is easily the most busted of the five, and I look forward to completing the first draft of the deck and testing it at my store.

{Ink-Treader Nephilim} - Non-Black
This one was the first one I considered brewing.  My plan for this deck, when I get to it, it basically resolve the Nephilim, resolve {Dismiss into Dream}, and proceed to smash my opponents while they have no creatures.  Still considering various details, but I'd love to have more cards with abilities like {Niv-Magus Elemental} to mitigate the downside of copies targeting my own things; Cast {Swords to Plowshares} on the Nephilim, make copies, then eat all the copies that target my own things.

As for {Witch-Maw Nephilim} and {Dune-Brood Nephilim}, I'm kind of at a loss.  The only way I can think of Witch-Maw is either as Voltron or using it in conjunction with {Ghave, Guru of Spores}, but then I realize I might as well just play Ghave.  Dune-Brood also just feels like it wants to be {Coat of Arms}.dec, trying to abuse getting huge numbers of creatures quickly.

So, anyone have any ideas?

Dune brood should be simple. Just a good solid token build

Theyre legal in Commander 2.0. You're encouraged to build these decks, try to include a CMD2.0 tag in the deck list so people know the difference. :)
