The package actually has a little folded insert that tells you which is tourney legal and which are not.

I mainly go for matte blue's

Ultra pros are garbage. Buy kmc or dragonshields which are only slippery initially.

False. Have had dragon sheilds on one of my EDH decks for over a year and they are still slippery. Maybe it's cause I keep my hands clean? I don't really know
I own numerous sets of shields and never do they stay slippery. Not sure why yours would. Also if you don't like the shields, go kmc.

I'd rather just stick with ultra pro's, because they have a much better feel to them. And like I said before when it comes down to it, feel is all that really matters.

I personally go for durability, in which case I run through this test:

Have I ever seen a ultra pro split?: yes.
Have I ever seen kmc's split?: yes (though much less that ultra pros)
Have I ever seen dragon sheilds split?: no

I want ultra pros. I need to know which are the sturdiest of the least sturdy sleeves. I'm not getting dragonshields, I want a matte not glossy back.

Those KMC Mattes are literally the best sleeves you can get. The team I play on all uses them and not once has a sleeve split. They are slick like all sleeves at first but once played with a couple matches they become nice and smooth where they glide on shuffle but hold tight while playing (sitting as a deck)

Do you play with it often? They shouldn't stay slippery.

Seriously just pay the extra $2-3 and get {Dragon Sleeves}!!

For ultra pro sleeves I have only ever had about 2-3 break and that was with my cats playing with them. So I guess ultra pro is not animal friendly.. Haha.
Never really tried others except for random ones in Japanese and ultra and off brand penny sleeves but ehh.. Those are pretty much only good for play testing or in binders..

Have you even read his posts? He made it clear that he wants sleeves that aren't very slippery since he won't have a chance to deslipify them.

Well if you use a shinny or gloss coated sleeve for a few games they are not very slippery anymore. Nothing is as slippery as penny sleeves though..

Ultra pro matte blacks are awesome

TreeSmoker

Matte blues aren't as hard as black
And they are soft like turquoise dragon shields. They are only slippery if double sleeved
Lol

Had a bad experience with a double sleeved deck i fresh matte blues

Cards went everywhere ):

Ultro-Pro is Okay.  I've had more of them break on me than any other sleeve, and I've also had times where I bought a pack of exactly the number I needed, and it was one or two short.

I use KMCs for competitive events.  Hyper-Mats actually.  Very smooth shuffling, durable enough to run a few events.  I wouldn't use them for long-term, but that's just me.  Back when they first came out with them, they used to split a fair amount of the time, but they've worked out those kinks.

For EDH, I use Dragonshields for the sheer durability and the 100-sleeve packs (And, opposite Ultra-Pro, there're always a few extra sleeves in the box).  The only problem with Dragonshields are that the cuts can be slightly uneven, so I shy away from them for tournament play.

I've decided to go for some ultra pro pro-matte sleeves. I'll have 25 extra in case any split, and I should be ok for 1 gp at least.
