No, if he dies durim your opponents turn he will come back on yours which ia awesome

honestly i dont see his toughness as much of a downside. green can either pump it, give it hexproof/indestructable, or worst case let it die and get a new beater in 1-2 turns

I know it not in rules but may as well say, if a creature is 2/1 and ets hit with a -1/-1 does it die?
