Can I return something like {Elixer of Immortality} to my hand and then throw out {Blightsteel} on the 5th turn?

Turn 1: island
T2: island
T3: island + Elixer
T4: island + Transmuter
T5: island + Transmuter's ability, return Elixer, throw out Blightsteel.
T6: no blockers, 11 with infect.

Sure.  Transmuter doesn't care what artifact you return to your hand.  You can return an Elixir, an Artifact Land, or even the Transmuter herself.  You just have to bounce an artifact.

Yessir. Not even terrible odds of an opening hand having all you need (assuming you run four of each). It'll also be sweet to watch your opponents face as an 11/11 trample, infect, indestructible hits the table. On turn six. In a blue deck.

Is there another way to bring out blitghty with a blue deck early in the game? Let's estimate around turn 5-6.

Edit: Since Blightsteel isn't Legendary, I also run 4 {Clone}s and 4 {Copy Artifact}s.

{Tinker} is really useful.  Also, {Ornithopter}s and {Memnite}s are good for sacrificing.

Great point. Why not run a playset of {Mox Opal}s and Hockey Pucks ({Darksteel Relic}s) instead? You could also use {Ornithopter} or {Memnite} and {Springleaf Drum} to bluff affinity. I would go with 4x {Springleaf Drum}, 4x {Ornithopter}, 4x {Memnite} and 4x {Mox Opal}s.

{Muzzio, Visionary Architect} can do it T4. Without mana acceleration. If you're lucky and have a high(ish) cost artifact on the board. {Brainstorm} greatly helps set up (if Blightsteel is in your hand you can put it on top of your library.) {Arbiter of the ideal} does the same(ish) thing.
