Thanks for the input but I have {Nyleas Presence} for that exact reason.

Ryggrad82

Ok, so what would take out?

Ghoultree

Can't do that. It's part of a game winning combo when paired with {Enlarge}.

Dstyle1

Ok.....

Can you tell me what the plan is?
Ghoul tree into enlarge win ,turn 10?

Yiur going to need some way to dump a tun of creatures into the yard for ghoul tree to be viable.
And, I see you have only 4 viable turn one plays. Might need something else??? Avacyns pilgrim, bird of paradise(best choice), other mana elves. Some more multi colored ramp.

Mr_Fahrenheit

If you want your game winning combo to be ghoultree + enlarge than I suggest concentrating your entire deck on getting that combo as quickly and efficiently as possible. Maybe use creatures that fill your graveyard like {satyr wayfinder} and mana producing creatures to help you get there. Plus {nykthos, Shrine to nyx} would be helpful here too. Also drop down to just two colours until you get that running smoothly, then add a third colour when you have the appropriate mana base if you feel like you must. The way you have it now it will never run consistently because there are too many one- and two- ofs, and too many cards in total for you to consistently get what you need. Just my opinion though.

Ryggrad82

Well, there are several strategies happening here. All geared towards winning. Ghoul tree + enlarge, door to nothingness, Nissa's last ability and the chromanticore's bestow. Does that help make sense of this?

Mr_Fahrenheit

All I can say is play test it against decks that are more focused and that have a better mana base. It's something that you have to experience yourself to truly understand the difficulties such a deck creates. I can almost guarantee that you will soon enough agree that your deck needs some refining. Simply saying that you have multiple strategies geared towards winning means nothing if your opponent has you dead on turn 4 or 5 and you're still waiting for your ten lands to use door to nothingness. Or when you spend several cards to just get your ghoultree path to exiled or doom bladed. Putting all your eggs in one basket, in your case, something that appears to be slow and inconsistent is a very dangerous path to take. Trust me when I say that you will rarely get there. You have too many strategies going on at once. What happens if you draw one cromanticore and a door to nothingness? What happens when you draw a ghoultree and not enough land to cast it? All those combinations that are useless are more likely then the useful ones because there are so many of them.

Ryggrad82

Very true. Thank you. What if I eliminated all of the multicolored and just used Nissa's last ability?

Mr_Fahrenheit

You don't have to take everything out. Just decide what you want to do and focus the deck around that. Then if that doesn't work, try something different. The fun is in the play testing and refining.

Spencer Addington

Elves are best when mono {G}. You get to pump out win cons like {craterhoof behemoth} and {Emrakul the Eons Torn}, aka Big Papa Fuzz with a very consistent mana base.

cltrn81

Cool deck but it was on the borderline of true competitive Modern play so I moved to Casual ;)

I a agree with Mr Farenhight.  Pick a strategy and run with it.  I honestly don't like the multicolored win-con with {door to nothingness} in this deck.  Green is stompy so stick with the creature spamming FTW!!

Ryggrad82

I think I will make it mono green. However it is going to stay over 60 because of Nissa's ability.
