So you guys know, Deathlace and Blind Seer won't do anything because Sol'Kanar triggers when it's cast.  If it becomes black afterwards, it doesn't matter.

What this guy really wants is {Painter's Servant}, but it's banned in traditional multiplayer EDH.

There's plenty u can do with Sol Kanar. He can even command a mono black deck- remember u dont have to use 3 colors- the rule only states that your deck may only consist of the same color or colors as your commander. Sol Kanar is red blue and black, or grixis. You could run it as pure red, pure blue or pure black or any combination of those colors. If u do you'll want to include things that will allow u to tap for black or red or black or blue ect so u can still access Sol Kanar and also play any mono black spells in your deck.

In so far as Derevi there is a Derevi thread already started by Ekann. I suggest reading thru it to get a better idea of what to use.
