Floating nana is something I recently learned on here, my question is, if I were to cast {Armageddon} could my opponent float mana?
Say I wanted to {Faith's Reward} afterwards, could they float enough mana for {Counterspell}? Or am I understanding the whole "Float mana" thing wrong?

Sure.  Floating mana just means you've used a mana ability without using it to pay for anything yet.  Your opponent can do this just as easily as you can.

Couldn't he wait until the next phase though, to cast it while his opponent lost the floating mana. Unless he was floating too...

In this situation, he's floated the mana to cast Faith's Reward.  If he goes to the next step or phase to make his opponent lose their UU, he'll lose his mana, too.

Pssh, the only Cluestone I run is because of the Draw ability as an extra fallback for if five million things happen when trying to win off of Laboratory Maniac

Depends on the land. Since it doesn't say otherwise, it enters how it would normally enter. Basics normally enter untapped, guildgates enter tapped. It's like they're entering the battlefield normally.

Just so it's clear:

Mana pool empties at end of each phase.

You cast Armageddon - destroy all lands

Response - opponent taps all lands to float mana, you do the same

Armageddon resolves; destroy all lands

Opponent uses floating mana for counterspell

Faiths reward is countered if you have no response
