Would this essentially be a 1 cost to target every creature I control?

If the Thaumaturge is on the BF then yes you can target all of your creatures beyond the first for a cost of {0} each

Say I have 6 creatures with Heroic abilities. Can I play {Blessings of Nature} targeting all 6, putting 4 counters on the first creature and 0 on the rest?

No- because you have to distribute one of those counters for it to be a target.

Ruling from the gatherer:
5/1/2012   You may choose up to four target creatures. You declare how many counters will be placed on each target creature as you cast Blessings of Nature. Each target must receive at least one counter.

You can't target your 6 heroic creatures with this spell, only four of them. And as was mentioned earlier, each needs at least 1 counter.

Also, your question is important, and deserves a topic all to itself.

Thanks! Gatherer is blocked by my office firewall, so that's why I posted here.
