It won't let me link the card, but it's Ordric something. It states when this creature and at least 3 other creatures attack you choose how many creatures block, etc etc...
My question is, if I have a field of hexproof creatures, am I still affected by ordric's ability?
On the card itself, it doesn't specify target, but when my opponent chooses which ones block, he technically is choosing the target creature.
I called him on that and he worked around it next turn by saying "none of them will block". I don't understand how key words as such can work around hexproof.

It isn't technically choosing "target creature" it has to state on the card target to target. Even if it says choose, it's not targeting. Odric goes right around hexproof.

Will it go around shroud as well?

Yes. Shroud states "This permanent can't be targeted by spells or abilities." Where Hexproof states "This permanent can't be targeted by spells or abilities your opponents control." Meaning that shroud has a downside, since you can't be targeted by your own abilities or spells.

you could say shroud is a downside, but when you try to {redirect} the {hero's downfall} that i pointed at your {elspeth, sun's champion}, if all i have are creatures with shroud, you won't be able to change the target.

I don't feel like creating a new thread for a simple question about hexproof, so here it goes.

If my opponent tries to give his creature +x/+x can I play an instant and give their creature hexproof? It would be my spell so their creature can't be the target of spells or abilities they control. Correct?

if you can find a way to give an opponent's creature shroud, that would work. but regardless who controls the spell the gives hexproof, the permanent with hexproof will not be able to be targeted by opponents. the controller can still target freely.

Anything that gives -/- will get rid of him despite indestructible as long as the - is equal to his toughness.

I can think of four ways around indestructible. 1) reduce their toughness to 0. The creature is then sent to the GY as a state based action and not destroyed.
2) force them to sacrifice the creature.
3) {unsummon} the creature.
4) exile the creature.

Now that I think on it, 3 and 4 can be combined into send it to a zone that isn't the graveyard.
