See, the city is a triggered ability whenever it's tapped. This is an additional coat. So you don't take damage when someone uses something else to tap it but you can't {Stifle} (etc) this one.

yea i know there both different both have upsides and downsides. while {city of brass} is normally worse, if you are at one life, you can respond to the life loss trigger by casting a lightning bolt and killing your opponent. you can't do this with the functional reprint.

idk about really good. its functionally a {city of brass}, which is fine, but the modern masters reprint is around 5 dollars. thats where i see this when the hype dies down.

City of Brass has several reprints and is not standard playable.
I see this being a 13-15$ card while standard and a 10$ card post rotation.

Lack of reprints further down the road have the potential to drive up the price though

what makes {city of brass} not standard playable but this is? its not like many ppl are playing {hidden strings} decks and tapping your land.
