I don't and happy that is wasn't pinned. I think that having decklists for the top archetypes dilutes the value of knowing what those archetypes are. They are just decklists and inconsistent in knowing what the top 8s are. This is actual knowledge for the recent top decks, and it provides much needed info for that meta. Not every meta is going to be the same and your decklists are noting that they are going to be the same in some manner. Have knowledge of the past metas to influence your input for the next, but don't get stuck on just thinking you know the meta because of that.

Sorry wasn't trying to cock block you on this. I didn't feel like cross referencing your list and the last top 8. I just put up the last top 8 from the most recent tournament. If enough people want me to move this and post yours by all means I will. I'm not trying to steal your idea. Just wanted to put the last top 8

MisterJH

I dont see any reason why they cant both exist together? I thoroughly enjoyed Taysbys list of the competitive decks, not just the ones chance decided to put top 8 most recently(these are obviously top tier decks, im not arguing that)

However i also like seeing what the latest happenings are.
They both serve a purpose, i think they both deserve a spot up here. Its rather crappy Taysbys didnt get stickied i agree, i think the best/fairest/most logical solution would be to just remedy that

Taysbys was betterfor people looking to get into modern becase they can see the entire metagame, whereas this caters to those who just want to look at what wins and netdeck so they can win, which is a viable market as well. Regardless i appreciate Taysby's work, and have give multiple karmas for it and would like to see it have its own place.

I can't agree with this at all because it doesn't help newer players, only players who have knowledge of the concepts. Decklists don't help players to come into the new meta, and that all that Tasby's post is. The point of it is to post current tier decklists. The way to help new players into a meta is to teach them what the top decks are, ways to combat it and ways to understand how they play. If new players just look at a decklist, they might not know what the point of the deck is. Even I have trouble looking at a decklist just trying to figure what the point of the deck is, and some people have trouble doing that when I make a decklist.

Tasby's idea is helpful in a sense, but it lacks any information that would further the knowledge of a player. The Top 8 thread is helpful though because it tells up the top contending decks for that meta. The thing is: Modern isn't a straight forward meta. I mean, Rug Delver, Dega Control and Zur Control have made top 16 before. Relic Quest made top 100 not too long ago. Each tournament is going to be different and people should learn that. Yes, decks are going to be prevalent from one to the next and so-on, but people should know what those decks do instead of knowing the contents of it. And there would be some pretty interesting tech in a lot of decks.
