I know there isn't much out there that I would want more than a lightsaber, but to be honest, I'd rather have "the falcon". Sure having a blade made of pure energy capable of cutting through anything would be awesome but think of all the places you could go and things you would see in the falcon...

Nothing. Energy weighs nill, so the handle end would land first. Voila, no lightsaber at the middle of the earth problems

Well even if blade down, the handle wouldnt fit through the hole made bythe saber. Itd just get stuck handle deep in the earth

But said saber would incinerate whatever it hit until it did start to fall more.  The real question is if the hilt would be able to withstand the heat of touching whatever was just incinerated.

What about darth mauls saber! I want that one. It is a red and black duel. And what if that hit the floor? Plus I think that if a light saber hit the floor it would start sinking into the ground. It would make a bigger hole then the handle due to the amount of heat, if it instantly cuts flesh or metal.. But yes the falcon is cool. But you need fuel.. Where would you get that in the middle of space?? So I say light saber..  Plus, in my opinion the government prolly has light saver technology already but a person can not deflect a bullet.. So ehh. Our troops go out and get shot.. They do not possess the force. Plus do you?? Haha

The laghtsabre has a button on the side that needs to be held down in order to stay on. Otherwise every time it got knocked out their hand in the movies we'd have a massive problem on our hands

I don't see how a lightsaber would deflect laser beams.
We don't have warp drive capability yet. The earth is still filled with greedy corporate opportunists. Everything is too expensive.

Very similar to the halo energy sword, if the handle was let go without being shut off, all of the plasma would burn out the handle and it would become useless.  (In the books of course)
