If I have a {Xenagos, God of Revels} {Burning-Tree Emissary} and a {Sylvan Caryatid} on the battlefield, is the god a creature?

Splicer

No, because you only have 5 {R} and {G} mana symbols. You need seven

Pretch

So the {Burning-Tree Emissary} doesn't count as two {red} and two {Green}? And thanks for the help

Pretch

Sorry to be off topic but how did you add the mana symbols?

Giggle the Draco Genius

Basically it is a true/false system for each mana symbol and it only checks once.

for each mana symbol, is it green? is it red? if yes to either, +1.  But not +2 if both are true.

ok the argument I'm facing is {burning-tree Emissary} is a green and red spell and if cast with {Tablet of the Guilds} you would gain two life??? Do you or anyone know a rule number I can quote? Please and thank you

Splicer

I don't think it counts as two red and two green, unless it counts the things in the text box

For tablet of the guilds, though, you would gain 2 life

Permanents can't add more devotion than they have mana symbols. BTE adds two to your devotion to red, two to green, and two to red and green.

From the BNG FAQ:

QuoteYour devotion to two colors is equal to the number of mana symbols that are the first color, the second color, or both colors among the mana costs of permanents you control. Specifically, a hybrid mana symbol counts only once toward your devotion to its two colors. For example, if the only nonland permanents you control are Xenagos, God of Revels and Rubblebelt Raiders (whose mana cost is ), your devotion to red and green is five.

For {tablet of the guilds} it does state "if the cast spell is one of the chosen colors, gain 1 life for each color it matches"

For te gods the rules themselves are a bit less clear

In the section about gods

Hybrid mana symbols such as  {U\W} count toward both their colors but aren't counted twice.
