I'm a fan of Necro in any black EDH, as long as the manabase can support it. That advantage is hard to equal.

I second ID. You start with 40 life. One of the best cards to utilize it. Plus, if you've got even just a little life gain in that deck, turn that into huge amounts of draw. All for three black mana. Freaking stupid good draw engine
