That would actually be really cool. But only artifacts could make that viable, and we don't have many :(

Not necessarily. Most permanents do have colorless mana symbols in them, and that's what Devotion works off of; so {Bronze Sable} and {Mogis, God of slaughter} would give you the same devotion to colorless if that was the case.
