Birdbrain

What about a chemist class that can heal/cause explosions/inflict status ailments and stuff

Birdbrain

Basically like a red Mage from final fantasy

"Liquid nitrogen" could be the "blizzard" attack
"Plasma" could be "thunder"
"Explosion" could be "fire"
Hmmmm...

"Carbon fiber" could be an earth type attack
"Nuclear fission" could be "ultima"
"Water" could be just that. I can't think of a chemistry way to put it

"Areo" is tricky, let me think for a while on it...

That didn't take long. Mixing hot and cold air under high pressure would do that

I had once had an idea for a post-apocolyptic RPG, and this was my idea for red or black mage

Birdbrain

Oh. Didn't read the engineer thoroughly, nevermind...I'll leave it up anyway

FlickerYourOwnIdentity

A chemist class would be a great idea.  Engineer may be smart, but a chemist would be great because you are a versatile class.  You could use natural elements to your advantage.  Although the chemist can't really heal allies with any known combinations of elements, (just realized a doctor class is in order :P)

Self igniting Mozoltov Cocktails, Electricity and water(???), Sodium and water (explosion), quick drying cement (immobilization), radiation, etc...

Perhaps an Elemental monster class having four different skill trees you can choose from?
Fire Water Earth Air? Then way late in the game have access to Light/Dark Elementals?
Also. How about a Cthulu creature :3 could be like a raid boss.

Birdbrain

How about creatures that randomly phase in and out of existence

That brings up another thing. Random encounters, they are annoying because there so frequent. However, you could make them rare, and be like a monster snuck up on you or something, and they would have a preemptive strike on you before you could act

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought he meant 5 different programming languages... C++, Java, etc.

Seems like a cool idea.
I did... Haha

Ok, to all you programmers out there that say you can help.  After consulting my group of programmers they declined the offer, due to the fact that they like to work with people they personally know, and can work within a close proximity to.

I dunno, you programmers are weird people :P

And we already have an elemental creature, and that is the kitsune.  I'll add a list of the various kitsune types in a bit.  One moment

Ok, there are thirteen types of kitsune.

"High Kitsune"
Celestial - technically a heaven kitsune.  Is considered most holy, also the type of kitsune Inari, the Ten-Tailed One, is.
Void - a nogitsune.  An evil for of kitsune that feeds off of pain, strife, chaos, and sadness

Lesser Kitsunes
Fire
Earth
River
Ocean
Wind
Forest
Spirit
Time
Sound

The lesser Kitsunes are what you can start out as.  However, based on your decisions throughout the game, you can become a celestial, or void.

Birdbrain, what do you mean by random encounters?  In this RPG, enemies roam, and will attack you if you get within a certain proximity of them.

Also, concerning the idea of phasing in and out, I am willing to put an Enenra in the game, but as a raid boss.  As I will for Cuthulu.

random encounters can be used as a way to represent an enemy sneaking up on you. But you could put the possibility at 5% or something so it doesn't get annoying. The rest of the time, you would see the enemy

That's what I was talking about

This reminds me of World of Warcraft how certain special/secret characters would be stealthed and only spawn in specific areas like 5-10% of the time. Perhaps do an effect of that? Have them still be roaming just the character can't see them.

Sparkle Ninja

There needs to be a 'Murican class where its just s fat guy who throws cheeseburgers at people

i finished my melee weapon design for the businessman (without texture data, just materials) ill upload the image here and pm it too you. if you want i can mail you the .blend or .obj file so you can view the 3D model. :))

Destore117

Businessman should have an exploding briefcase that he can throw at someone. Or like attach to someone that detonates soon after.

Also can't remember if you said this
But Minotaurs would be awesome.
