I am currently, attempting to, read the Hunger Games series... I won't say it's a bad book by any means because it describes scenes well and goes over so much more things in the book vs movie aspect. Yet, I cannot get over how it's 'narrated' by Katniss and everything is seen from her perspective only. I love learning about characters and backstory of characters, because I am a lore nerd. I must know everything about that character. Since you only learn personal things about Katniss because you are reading from her view only things are a bit skewed and it makes it hard for me to read it.

On the other hand, I got Ted Dekker's new book "Outlaw" and will be reading that after I get "Diablo: The Sin War" finished.

If you like that, I recommend the books "Battle Royal". Hunger Games got the story from this.

Kaworu, the Fifth Child

Looking for Alaska is the funniest thing I've ever read. Pages 126-128 especially sensual.

Dekker is great, have you read Thr3e? Or the Circle Trilogy? Or the Showdown series? Because they are all awesome.

Eff yeah nerdfighters!

I <3 John Green.

In keeping with the thread, I'm currently reading Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman and If on a winter's night a traveler by Italo Calvino, and I've read a ton of books since I last posted here.

I am a huge Stephan King fan, I have many of his books an read them all at least 50 times each lol, I'm currently reading two different mangas though right now, GTO and Confidential Confessions. I am also in the middle of The Demonata series by Darren Shan.
If you like blood an gore books I highly recommend The House Of Blood and The Queen Of Blood by Bryan Smith.

Gaiman is one of my favorite authors ever. You really must read American Gods if you haven't already. It's a "prequel" (in the loosest sense) to AB and one of my top 5 books ever.

Yeah the edition of Anansi I have also has American Gods with it. I'm going to read it next for sure. I've been a fan of his comics for a whole but never read his novels until I read The Ocean at the End of the Lane a few months ago.

Have you heard American Gods is being adapted for TV and Gaiman is helping write it? Joseph Gordon Levitt also has the rights to make a Sandman movie.

FlickerYourOwnIdentity

A couple books up my arsenal.

Anyone's thoughts on Ender's Game trilogy.  I've been meaning to read it, but haven't quite gotten around to it.

The Count of Monte Cristo (I believe that is the title).heard very good things and very bad things, wanted to hear your opinion.

Ender's Game is worth reading solely for the sequel, Speaker for the Dead, a better read. I haven't read the other two books in the series but I plan to. Ender's Shadow is also really good, which is a parallel story to Ender's Game.

I love speaker for the dead. All time favorite book. I haven't read it in a long time though, so I guess it's time for a reread.

Silent1236

Hmm, managed to miss this thread somehow.  I've been reading the hell out of the old school Resident Evil books.  Not the best, but still pretty good.  Entertaining, to say the least.  Outside of that I have been reading some of the MtG books.  They seem really hit or miss.  The planeswalker cycle was decent, Alara Unbroken was horrible, and I can't find the Zendikar novel anywhere for a reasonable price, especially considering I haven't seen a single good review for it.  Definitely wanting to go back and read some of the older novels.  To be honest, though, everything is just filler while I wait for the next Dresden Files.  By far my favorite series.  Now hurry the hell up, Butcher!  It's been forever!

I had heard AG was being looked at. He just recently wrapped a BBC radio production if Neverwhere that I hope to hear one day. Didn't know about the Sandman movie however.

Also Ocean at the End of the Lane was a great book. I haven't read a bad book my Gaiman yet.

Alexander Dumas is another favorite of mine, likely my favorite classical writer. You have the title right, and the book is a quick easy read. If you like it check out the Three Musketeers trilogy.

For the record I used to read a TON but the dreaded work has recently destroyed all my free time lately.

ApexPredator

Haven't been reading too much lately as I havent found anything thats piqued my interest. Think I found one today though. "The Darkness the Comes Before" by R. Scott Bakker. Seems to be quite interesting. I'll make sure to let you guys know my thoughts.
