Zoo is about as Aggro as you can get in modern, next to Fae and Folk, and Goyf fits in snugly with the curve and theme

T2: {Sacred Foundry}/Plains, {Tarmagoyf}

Seems okay

Even better if you used a fetch land to get one of those lands. Land in GY for Goyf!

Could someone explain why exactly goyf is so expensive? I've never played modern and assume there's some fit with its ability that does work but i have no idea

It's really expensive since it's barely been printed and it's one of the best 2-drops in modern and legacy. Since most of the decks that play it spend a lot of time blowing up their opponent's stuff, it usually comes down as a 3/4 or 4/5 for 2, which is insane.
