Can a casual deck be made into a modern deck???

Ekann1

depends on what the casual deck is. do you have a decklist?

DylanW18

Well, competitive modern has it's usual deck lists that top 8, such as Jund, USA, Melira Pod, Tron etc.

Could your casual deck be really good in modern if you spent tons of money on keeping the theme but switching for better cards? Sure. It wouldn't top 8 most likely (although I don't know your deck list), but it could be good :)

I disagree. Just because you don't net deck, doesn't mean it won't be top 8. Put the staple cArds but mix it up, and you'll do fine!

I guess I said my opinion wrong lol it's just that those decks have been really refined down to be the best they can be. Do I think adding staples with a custom deck list can top 8? Yes, they can. I suppose I meant more like, pro tour powerful

It really depends on how competitive you want it to be, cards you have access to, etc. Tons of cards are legal in the modern format

Birdbrain

Yes. Wizards also needs to make cards that wreck the usual top 8 too

They did. And then they banned them. Example: {Deathrite Shaman}.

I saw your 2a deck in the casual forums...it appears to be a limited prerelease deck.  Perhaps it did well in limited but modern constructed is a whole different animal.  In it's current form it would get murdered.  Review the modern forum for competitive modern decks.

Is there a simple modern deck to build at low cost?

Affinity or infect I guess

Wingnut

Low cost and modern don't really go together.

Sparkle Ninja

Mine does. You should see my human modern deck

This. The cheapest deck I can think of is {Living End}, but even that really needs {fulminator mage}s.
