So I was on the bus today finalizing a trade with a kid when another kid jumped seats to us and started talking, he pulled out a long box of cards and I started looking through. There was much until I found them, three {demonic tutors}. Now this kid clearly did not know what they are worth, and I need three for a legacy deck I'm putting together. But before anything could be figured out we got to school. Now here is the question, do I inform him of what they're worth, or do I take him for all he's got?

It's fine if you give him something he wants for it.  I'm not going to go back and use someone for trading with me (yugioh) with me giving my blue eyes for like 25 cents of cards because I wanted those cards. Just because the current market value is x doesn't make trading it for x-y wrong as long as he's happy with the trade.
That is definelty true

i would offer something close to what they were worth. It's stealing if you do otherwise. Don't look desperate though, as it could make him want to trade up. But I would give him something in the ballpark (like within 5$ of the total of all three) for them

I will have to figure out what gen they're from

White border is usually revised

Don't rip him off. It's a dick move, for all you know it's his dads collection and if a dad finds out about bad trades on school busses, people get called and then magic is banned from local schools.

MuggyWuggy

Like seriously : when I was in elementary and middle school POGs and magic were banned due to kids trAding/wagering constantly and unhappiness coming from that. They just banned it instead of dealing with kids BS.

Yah I remember that, I sold a kid a mew Ex for $20 In elementary school and they made me trade bsck

They're black border
sharp edges or curvy like nowadays

If square corners they are just collectors edition

Black border would either be the duel deck which is rare (newer art) otherwise beta or alpha. If things are beta/alpha you better bet that whosever collection that really belongs to will come back for it.

This is why if you save nice things for your kids, wait till they are 35

They do but I believe the CE versions are just straight cut like baseball cards, believe alpha and beta still had some curvature

I just highly doubt some kid is rolling around with 3 alpha or beta demonic tutors and has no idea the value of them or significance. Whoever would have saved those for 20 years wouldnt just blindly give them to a child to take to school with.
