People are selling their iPhone 5S's on eBay for $3,000+ and people are buying them just because they have Flappy Bird on it. I'm considering selling my iPhone 4 for $300. With my upgrade, that would be enough to get a new phone and a decent case. Worst case is no one buys it.

That's hilarious!  I might just have to try that.  But wouldn't switching your Apple ID make you lose the app?

I don't think syncing deletes apps. Just puts them back on there when you connect it to iTunes. I may be wrong though. I've never had a secondhand iDevice.
