well if you run green it allows you to ramp and make big dudes that help with milling
true. but I think sticking to UB would be better, mana is easier (for anyone who would want to build the deck in real life) and mana base would be more consistent. Also, that allows us to make Phenax a creature more often.

^This. Even though Phenax by himself is enough to wreak havoc; as a creature, he's not a bad beater either!

Skyshadow731

plus if you splash green for just the ramp you can play phenax earlier than turn 5 and make him more of a head ache for you opponet

Dmreiss

Splashing green will take away from the mill in order to ramp. The deck will lose focus and struggle trying to balance the two.

true. which is why i suggest sticking to UB. plus, nykthos ramp, but can do it better when there are fewer colors in the deck.

Dmreiss

Okay, UB it is. I think we have decided on creature heavy as well.  Agreed?

Skyshadow731

i was saying run the 0/3 defender with hexproof as an early defender and with that it can help you A mill for 3 B use prophet B ramp just a little bit

Sounds good!

Now what will be our early drops? {Omenspeaker}, {Wight of Precint Six}, {Pain Seer}? What's the best strategy?

Codester1991

My BUG deck is pretty good. I run heavy monsters and 2 ashioks i put in 4 sylvan caryatids 2 polukranos and 2 mistcutters for my green and for lands I have 4 overgrown tombs and 2 temples of mystery for the green lands along with 3 forests plus my other lands. I'm still tryin to perfect it and can't wait for the next set

 {Wall of Frost} x4
{Wight of Precinct Six} x4
{Omenspeaker} x4
{Consuming Aberration} x3
{Desecration Demon} x3
{Pain Seer} x3

What do you guys think?  This would be in addition to the god. Would you change numbers?

DimirOverlord1300

Idk about pain seer we can lose very large amounts of life to him

I know what you are saying. There seems to be a healthy group of people championing that card. If the whip is in the deck that could counterbalance the life loss, but then we lose focus on milling.

What do others say?

Ekann1

I wouldn't play pain seer. Too much life loss. We need a bit of time to mill them out, especially against agro, mand pain seer won't give that to us.

Prplprince

We could abuse inspired with {Siren of the Silent Song} and {Servant of Tymaret}

{Phenax, God of Deception} x3

This seems like a consensus of thoughts to keep the focus on mill.

Sparkle Ninja

I just got a Phenax. Time to start deck building
