There has been a bunch of discussions about mill lately with the spoiled cards.  Maybe we could develop a single deck with input from the entire community instead of across several threads.

A start on the mana pool might look like this:
{Watery Grave} x4
{Temple of Deceit} x4
{Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx} x2
{Island} x7
{Swamp} x7

Any changes?

If not, we could start thinking about the right ratio of creatures to spells and proceed from there.

Thoughts?  Ideas?

Dawgnjax

I think that's a good idea.     I haven't been playing very long and the first deck I ever played with was the dimir mill aggro with wights and aberrations.       Have wanted to make a mill deck work ever since then lol

With the new cards definitely want to give it another shot

Ekann1

I think the islands/swamps ratio will have to be decided after the rest of the deck is finished. Also, we should decide if it will be a creature heavy deck ({phenax, god of deceptions}) or more spell based. Although I like the wight "combo" with phenax - it grows larger allowing it to mill more allowing it to grow larger.

Useful stuff

{B}
{heroes downfall}
{doom blade}
{pack rat} (works well with phenax)
{desecration demon}
{wight of precinct six}
{pain seer}

{U}
{dissolve}
{jace, architect of thought}
{traumatize}
{jace, memory adept}
{opportunity}
{wall of frost}
{gainsay}
{cyclonic rift}
{Omenspeaker}
{triton tactics}

{U}{B}
{ashiok, nightmare weaver}
{night veil specter}
{consuming aberration}
{psychic strike}
{phenax, god of deception}
{mind grind}
{mirko vosk, mind drinker}
{breaking//entering} (breaking)

{prophet of kruphix} {G} {U}
{sphinx's revalation} {U} {W}

Lands
{temple of deceit}
{watery grave}
{nykthos, shrine to nyx}

I'm updating my list with most stuff everyone else says, hope that helps.

Keep in mind this is not a list of what should be in the deck, just standard mill cards off the top of my head that should/could be kept in mind when building this deck.

There's gotta be some stuff in born of the gods for mill that I dint know about, I don't play much blue or black.

Skyshadow731

we could run hidden strings to tap and untap creatures. and i keep saying maybe we should run one aetheriling cause with phenax you give aetherling a big butt and make them mill 9 cards per tap. plus i would have it to where you can defend with a bunch of defenders than drop collosus of akros to make him a 20/20 trample to mill them out or win the game with mill

heres my version.

the disiples of phenax are phenax him self

DylanW18

{Desecration Demon} is also really good with Phenax.

{Wall of Frost} as well, block, then tap to mill

You need {Gainsay} and {Cyclonic Rift} in SB, along with {Grisly Spectacle} against monsters

Skyshadow731

yea, d demon is really good for this deck

Dmreiss

Lots of good ideas floating around. Are we going to go more creature heavy or spells and control?

Sparkle Ninja

I'm thinking we throw in a mind grind for the lolz

LadyGrixis

I say creature-heavy, because YOLO! If you're Milling, it's gotta be with your whole heart :)

Boomer17

Don't know if splashing green is worth it but splashing green for the card  {Prophet of Kruphix} mill everytime your turn there turn would be amazing but is the Third color worth it.

The biggest problem with ashiok and nightveil is that the cards are exiled and they abberation and wight dont like that

Great card, but I am not sure splashing for one card is efficient. Others thoughts?

i know, just making a list of mill-type cards. ashiok is still great to get their creatures though.

well if you run green it allows you to ramp and make big dudes that help with milling

true. but I think sticking to UB would be better, mana is easier (for anyone who would want to build the deck in real life) and mana base would be more consistent. Also, that allows us to make Phenax a creature more often.
