Sombody tries to {mana leak} a spell of mine, it's during my main phase, so can I cast an {infernal plunge} and pay the mana?

Im pretty sure there are cards that could give it flash. I think a leyline maybe.

I'll just stick to using it for a turn 2 morbid {brimstone volley} or a turn 2 {Chandra the firebrand} out on the field.
