Equipping

So you equip anytime you can use a sorcery which is durin your main phases. My question is this, does it also equip at sorcery speed? Which would mean I could respond to something being equipped with an instant  to kill the recipiant of the equipment.

Yes, you can respond to someone paying 2 to equip a {Sword of War and Peace} or something with a Kill spell on the intended target.
