I was just wondering if the wording on Elvish Piper ("put a creature card from your hand into play"), would cause something like Ulamogs ability ("when you cast Ulamog destroy target permanent") to activate.

I just want to make sure because I know that sometimes wording is incredibly specific and there are exactly zero ruling via M:tG on this.

No, putting something into play is not the same as casting it. {Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre}'s ability will only trigger if you cast him.

Ulamog isn't cast, so the trigger doesn't happens. He is put in the battlefield.
