I've heard it said that the Wizards of the Coast have it in their long-term five year plan to release what may as well be referred to as a wedge-themed version of the Alaran Block.

For those who have no idea what a wedge is, here you go...

Dega - {R}{W}{B}
Raka - {R}{W}{U}
Ana - {B}{U}{G}
Necra - {W}{B}{G}
Ceta - {R}{U}{G}

My question is what do you think the Legendaries will be like? Will they reprint/revamp the wedge Commanders? Or create all new ones?

What about Planeswalkers?

What about the blocks villain?

What mechanics will each wedge have?

Invasion block had something going with wedges (that's where the names come from), but it wasn't really developed as the mana at the time was extremely rough and painful...

xStrayKnightx

Invasion block, huh? Might look into it.
What do you reckon will happen in the future block, though? The Shards have their mechanics; what about the Wedges?

rarehuntertay

Yup. It was very very roughly designed.

A wedge Alara is badly needed, IMO. Not only was Alara one if my favorite sets and is loaded with extremely fun gameplay, but the wedges DESPERATELY need more legendaries and commander options. I'm sick of Kaalia for {R}{W}{B}! Theres nothing but {Ghave, Guru of Spores} and {Karador, Ghost Chieftan} for junk! Need more choices!

Gorzo summarizes my thoughts regarding EDH commanders ITT. Would love to see an awesome BUG or junk commander

{Doran, the siege tower} is kinda cool, but I agree.

I third this. We need a Wedge block SO badly.

It is very much needed...not just for edh...it would be nice to see some wedge colored kill cards or exile spells.

I'd love to see some decent cards that could finally make Junk Midrange a competitor in Modern. Right now it is optimistically tier 2, but if it got some nice cards to glue the deck together, I think it could be tier 1.

Don't you mean Necra?

Melek the fire

I'd run Ana or necra. Love the mixes. Any truth to a wedge block in our future?
