Storm Crow is actually code name for a 43 year old player named Jim Landrouski who was Richard Garfield's housemate and also one of the first MTG test players.

He was always known for winning usually with a combination of  {Hurricane}, using  {Birds of Paradise},  {Fastbond},  {Wild Growth} and {giant growth}. Constantly frustrating the playgroup with the same tactic, Garfield chose to create a card similar to Jim's play style, yet chose to put it into a color Jim would rarely play: blue.

And that's how we have storm crow today
