If you can, make sure to at least once get {Sphere of Safety} up with 7-10 enchantments total (including {Mana Barbs}), then bite the bullet, pay as much life as you need to tap the mana for {Obliterate}, and wait to see how long it takes for everyone to figure out what you just did.

Zedruu was the original commander I had in mind when I started building this, actually! I eventually found myself needing to add green for much needed mana ramp and fixing, and black for tutors as well as a few super fun enchants like {Endless Whispers}. I settled on {Cromat} for his ease of casting and ultimate defensive powers of regen and destroying anything he blocks, and he's worked wonders for me.

I love this deck!!! I've been running a five color upkeep deck as my "fun" deck and my friend knows I have paradox haze and assemble the legion so I get focused. this looks like an infinitely more fun deck and I am deffiently give this a shot.

I am probably going to have to make a couple tweaks once I finally get to mess with some Commander2013 stuff. {Ranger's Path} is definitely getting replaced by the green Tempting Offer spell. I am probably going to remove {Knowledge Pool} for something more fun and less annoying, too. Possibly another tempting offer.

Honestly considering spending the $100 on this deck hahaha. {Chaos Lord} is hilarious. Can attack as if it has haste, except if it entered the battlefield this turn? Haha

I invested in it and let me tell you it is AWESOME!!! Lol if you play it fun it's great but I made adjustments so that it's slightly competitive. Lol I played a 1v1 vs. {Sen Triplets} and he got manascrewed lol so he played a 3 mana spell and was tapped out on my turn I play {sire of insanity} and end lol he discarded a JtMS, {Grand Arbiter Augustin IV} Omniscience and a few other great cards lol next turn I top deck {Sepulchral Primordial} get his {Grand Arbiter Augustin IV} so now he has to pay {1} more per spell and he was already manascrewed lol!

Also add {Door to Nothingness} for even more fun!!

Very viable! Make some changes to lower the CMC but once you get out some good enchantments its great I play it with {Assemble the Legion} as well as {Sphere of Safety} and it's just great lol

That's what I use! Want me to post my list it's slightly different I have a couple more win cons bc I still do like to win lol

I like Karona a lot, but settled on {Cromat} because he's a champion of a blocker. No 5-color legendary will keep you as safe as Cromat does.

But like Matteo says, Karona is a very viable commander for the deck! You'll probably want to make a few tweaks (as he did) to keep yourself protected, since Cromat is a major defensive player in my version.

{Assemble the legion} + {Zedru the Greathearted} is a combo that I recommend to all every turn donate x soldiers then you get y more to defend and draw x cards and gain x life there's just too many great combos!!
