When you redirect damage from a player to a planeswalker, do you have to redirect all the damage or can you redirect part and still have the rest hit the player?

Unfortunately all unless you have something like {Boulderfall}

Even then, it's all or none of the damage assigned towards the player that gets redirected to the walker.

Boulderfall type spells can assign 1 to creature A, 1 to creature B, and 3 to the player (redirected to Planeswalker), but can NOT assign, say, 2 to the player and 3 to redirect to a Planeswalker.

This also keeps you from hitting more than one walker with a single source of non combat damage.

Oh really? I'm sorry. Why not though? Bc it can be any number of players. Wouldn't that incl. PW?

Thanks everyone for quick responses :)

You cant target a planeswalker with a burn spell. Only creatures or players. When dealing damage to a player with a spell you may redirect that damage to a walker they control.
