As a long time competitive smasher, i'm surprised i haven't watched these yet.

To answer your question Dudecore (or at least in my opinion), the meta game in Melee has been in such constant progression ever since, that coupled with how some players get prominent and then fade out durin certain eras, greatest of all time is a really difficult question to answer.
If one were to assume that the most recent meta is the highest level of play, the answer is probably a player whose tag is Mango. He recently won Evo in Vegas, but more so, he's one of the most consistent winners of nationals and internationals in recent years.
People may argue a player named Mew2King, and people may argue a Swedish player named Armada. But if recent accomplishments are any indication, Mango is probably the answer you're looking for.

Steerpike

Are any of those names featured in those videos?

I feel like I can speak on this cuz I've played competitive Smash Bros for years and am acquainted with the Arizona scene who are pretty nationally regarded (not me though, im no scrub but i usually lose money at tournies)
(Shoutout to my az bretheren Wobbles who took 2nd at Evo - biggest tourney in history)

Dudecore

Mango, M2K, Korean DJ, PC Chris, Azen, Isai, and SephirothKen are featured most predominantly in the documentary.  Armada vs. Mango is referenced and shown.

As much as I hate to admit it, I feel like Ken is probably the most predominant and paved the way for a lot of competitive smashers. But Mew2King, Mango, and Korean DJ are all amazing players from the newer age.

sounds awesome :D I hope the wifi on the wiiU one is better than the wii's xD so much lag

Dudecore

I was a semi-competitive Tekken Tag player when I was young. Local tournaments and money games. Never liked Super Smash. I did play a bunch of Melee when it came out, but a few months later Tekken 4 came out so I focused on that.

Birdbrain

I never played competitively. And when I did do an advanced move when I played, it was always unintentional

Steerpike

Brawl did a great job at rupturing the scene because it's so much less competitive

Steerpike

But yeah if by best you mean who was most dominant at any given time in Melee's development of the meta game, Ken's a legitimate answer. But M2K, Armada, and Mango are totally comparable.

Their respective top levels of play never really existed at the very same time though (possibly excepting Armada and Mango) so that definition of best is fairly subjective

I'm still a KDJ fan all the way. WIFE, however, is hilarious and is a very close second.

I thought he meant by who's best as in who's his favorite character xD
I've always been a Ganon/Capt. Falco fan ^-^ Ganon's super smash attacks are the best but c Falcon is the best with his maneuverable jumps and definitely most memorable move.
FALCON PUNCH!!!
