I just created a Standard Bant Hexproof deck, tweaking it every chance I get, and I'm wondering how it would do against an Esper or a RDW....what do you guys think? Could Bant Hexproof be a contender in Standard right now?

DirtyMustachio

Things that are hexproof are the best answer. You should check out kaleos build on the forum. He got top 8 states and tops fnm each week with it

Sorry I don't know how to Link it though

DirtyMustachio

Bumped it for ya, its called states bantchantments

DirtyMustachio

I just realized thats not the same thing as hexproof builds

-facepalm

LadyGrixis

Sadly, I'm not spending my soul on Voices &/or Sphinx's Revs.

This is mine so far:

I'm a big fan of acended lawmage

Why no {unflinching courage} or {ethereal armor}?

Big fan of {aqueous form} also

MementoMori

I've beaten RDW with my G/W hexproof, but I've never tried against Esper.

You'll probably want {Rootborn Defenses} to deal with Esper's {Supreme Verdict}.

LadyGrixis

Had Aqueous Form main board, then took it out since it wasn't that fabulous. May sideboard. And I like Ethereal Armor, but not as much as I like Divine Favor. May add in Unflinching Courage....what should I take out?

DirtyMustachio

Rootborn or ready // willing are a must one or the other. If you don't generate tokens ready and willing is your best bet makes your creatures indestructible and untaps them.

On what to take out I'll browse

LadyGrixis

Re-added in Aqueous Form. I like Ready//Willing since I'm not generating tokens. Helps?

Morally I shouldn't offer any advice, as I hate hexproof decks :P even worse that my standard deck is 24 slots of removal. Good thing I have {Glaring Spotlight} in the board for you, you big jerk!

{Prognostic Sphinx} is the bane of my existence. If you don't have it already because it's not hexproof unless you toss cards, you may want to reconsider. The body lives through my {Mizzium mortars}, 3 power flying, and so much scry. This card wrecks me.

I do highly recommend {Unflinching Courage} as well, it's near impossible to keep pace with on a creature like Witchstalker or a monstrous Fleecemane.

LadyGrixis

Well I hate Esper NOW, even though I used to like it, because of all the jerks that run it at the shop. SO I'M MAKING THINGS TO MAKE THEM CRY!

Eff them.

Sphinx instead of Ascended Lawmage maybe?

That would work. Just make sure you have something generate a little hand. Isn't there some creature that lets you draw when you gain life? Bant colors?

LadyGrixis

I have the Ordeal of Thassa and I could sideboard some Divinations.

Good thing I have Naturalize sideboarded to deal with your Glaring Spotlight ;) and Ratchet Bombs
