Curious if someone can shed some light. The set up is {insivible stalker} with {paranoid delusions} encoded on it. Since the definiton of cipher is "i may cast a copy of this spell" does it actually hit the stack triggering {consuming abberation} ability?

Wackaman9001

Abberation fires his ability after a spell is cast. your spell goes on the stack, abberation sees that it is was cast, and places his ability on the stack. they mill until land, and then mill 3 from the delusion

Thank you. I have been playing that wrong since i got him. Guess that's what happens when u don't read the card carefully.

DimirOverlord1300

Same thing happened to me. I was notified at an went at my lgs about it. The next turn consuming abberation died :(

Does this mean ciphered spells would trigger heroic?

MementoMori

Yes. I saw some people getting pretty excited about {Hidden Strings} when heroic was new.

Yeah,  {Trait Doctoring} and  {Voidwalk} should work too. But hidden strings is best as it targets twice

AkiraDeLaine

Hmm, ok
Read parts of the discussion, should have read it all...
Still cipher seems a nice way to keep the heroes  triggering

Butch1977

Ok i can see the no double trigger on one card, but I should be able to activate heroic on two different cards with {hidden strings} correct?

Pleeb

Yes. It is a spell you control targeting your creature with heroic. It just happens to be targeting two of them at the same time.  Both will trigger.

Thank you Pleeb. Still not bad. I dont usually venture out of my U/B but heroic does sound pretty fast and fun.
