{alms beast} can be very effective, it works extremely well with a whip on the battlefield, as you will almost always out gain your opponent. Additionally, with any devour flesh, if you're desperate a declare block into a devour flesh yourself and sac the beast (obviously only if there's no whip out).

I question the doom blades myself, simply cause of all the black being played right now. Perhaps devour flesh to make it more versatile? Also, I agree with the white mana post. Does the mutavault really need to be there? Otherwise, I love this base. I'm going to run it a few times online, citing you as the source! :-)
