if I cast {relentless assault} or {fury of the horde} in my first main phase will it do anything? obviously not untap but would it still double the attack and main phases?

Thetrufflehunter

I would think so, although I truthfully do not know.

Paraluke

Since it did not say it need to be cast on second main phase, and that it says "additional combat phase" I do think that player still gets two combat phases.

Just that yes, the untapping will not trigger since no creatures have attacked.

Giggle the Draco Genius

You will get an additional combat from either of those cards but at the time of casting no creatures attacked and as such you better hope your creatures have vigilance or they will be tapped for the next combat since it untaps at resolution instead of at the start of combat

This is true. Once the card resolves it untaps your guys that ALREADY attacked, so you would cast, then take your extra combat, then another main, and then regular combat. This is all provided you cast during your 2nd main of course

yea when i cast {relentless assault} in duel of the planeswalkers in my first main phase i still got two attack phases. was legit but obviously did not untap my attacking creatures.
