Counters on dead creatures

When a creature dies with +1\+1 counters on it, by the moment it reaches the graveyard, may i move that counter to a living creature? (on the battlefield). I know it is a noob question... Its my first

I have no idea what you're talking about. Counters can never be moved unless specifically told so.  {Bioshift} is an example. Counters stay on the same creature unless you have a spell similar to that. Counters that are on dead creatures cease to exist like tokens.

I assumed he knew you can't just move them whenever he wants to and was using something like {Bioshift} or {Simic Fluxmage}

I know that you need a spell like Bioshift to do it, what i didn't knew is that they cease to exist whenever a creature dies haha.. Thx you two, helped a lot
