Vexing devil vs. flame javelin

I'm making a red deck wins and would like to get your opinions on this. Is {vexing devil} better than {flame javelin}?

Vexing Devil for the win. It's cheap, and it's a win/win either way.

I like the vexing.

It's one mana, you either get a 4/1 or they take 4, and you can use things like {Rush of Blood} if it makes it to the board.

On topic: devil is probably a better bet if your are not get an extra benifit from casting a instant over playing a creature.

I should have clarified and been a bit nicer. For that, I apologize. In my RDW it's almost all instants and sorcery's except for {guttersnipe}. I was wondering if it would be more benificiay to stick with an instant that deals 4 damage instead if a creature that might deal 4.

Well idk your deck but I'd assume that you have a lot of instants/sorcerers that burn the crap outta opponents so I feel like Vexing devil is better its a T1 either instant 4 damage or they have to waste removal on it and not on your guttersnipe

I try my best plus Vexing devil is good at anytime of the game bc it's so cheap you can play a mana heavy spell and you still probably have R left open for the devil! Whereas you'd still need 3 mana for the other one.
Lastly another key difference is that Vex deals only to a player whereas the other one deals to a creature or player. But in most RDW decks I doubt you need anymore creature burn.
So again Vex. Devil all da way!!
