If you play archangel of thune and extort it, does the extort resolve before or after the archangel enters the battlefield?  In other words, does extorting it trigger it's ability?

In order for the extort trigger to happen you have to cast the angel first

Cast spell
Extort trigger payed

Now last in the stack is the first out

Extort resolves
Angel resolves.

Extort resolves first.

Extort resolves then angel resolves
