It is often that core set cards recieve functional reprints in blocks. This often helps to maintain flavor and allows for a breif period of doubling up on effects such as we had with {evolving wilds} and {terramorphic expanse} during zendikar.

I don't understand. Why don't they just reprint  {Searing Spear}?
I don't think they'd have it rotate out and in of standard in the same minute...

In a way they do though. That lightning strike is THE EXACT SAME CARD (minus the name and flavour text)

I am just going to use my promo Spears and if anyone tells me I can't I'll explain it to them. If the complain after that I will either smack them or switch them out with the stupid Lightning crap.

Yes but now they can come back in M15 or 16 and we will have both.

Hahaha So I just spent $50 and did quite a bit of trading to make my {W}{B} Lifegain deck and it can just be shut down with a 4 drop and a couple of black permanents...why do you hate me Wizards!?!?!?!

Is bestow even worth using?

Ummm, YES!

.... Very few of the cards are worth it for the cmc

There is where I think you are wrong. Do you realize that when the enchanted creature dies the aura becomes a creature and stays on the battlefield?

I have to side against it. We havent seen any bestow (except nighthowler) with their cmc as both a creature and enchantment. Sure the can be awesome in sealed and edh but in standrad that is just way too slow. You can do so much more with that mana.

^^^ Agree completely

Wizards think that making one slower set slows down the meta to the point where bestow is actually useable but I am still running my Boros Aggro after rotation. {Clifftop Retreat} and {Vexing Devils} are the only thing the deck is losing (now that {Seaing Spear} functionally reprinted)

It's awesome bc you cast it. And then pass turn. And ass you pass turn all your stuff untaps so it is {3}{U}{G} but you can still do stuff on their turn. And you're playing Blue so you probably have some card draw or something to do.

Also might work well with  {Omnath, Locus of Mana} as you can just keep tapping away and doing it on both turns!!
